Go to Udawalawe.

do both in two days.

It depends on your priority. Yala for leopards (world's highest density) and sloth bears; Udawalawe for near-guaranteed elephants, fewer crowds and lower prices. Many travellers do both — the parks are only ~2 hours apart.
Yes. Udawalawe's foreign-adult gate total is Rs 13,420 (~$45) vs roughly Rs 15,000–18,000 at Yala (block-dependent), and jeep tours are generally cheaper too. Full numbers on the price page.
As close to guaranteed as wildlife gets — hundreds of resident wild elephants stay year-round because of the reservoir, and herds are seen on nearly every safari. No Sri Lankan park is more reliable for elephants.
Good but never guaranteed — leopards are solitary and elusive. Early-morning drives with an experienced tracker give the best odds; Yala Block 1 has the world's highest leopard density.
Udawalawe, by a wide margin. Yala's leopard fame brings gate queues and jeep clusters in season (Dec–Mar); at Udawalawe you often share a sighting with just a handful of vehicles.
Yes — a favourite combo: afternoon at Udawalawe for elephants, overnight nearby, then dawn at Yala for leopards. We arrange both parks with one pickup and one fixed price.
Udawalawe is excellent year-round (dry May–Sep concentrates herds at the water). Yala is best Feb–Jul; parts of Yala usually close for several weeks around Sep–Oct, so check dates.
Udawalawe is ~2.5–3 hours from Galle/Mirissa — the closest big-game safari to the beaches (~165 km from Colombo). Yala is further east (~270 km from Colombo), best from Tissamaharama, Ella or the far south.
Private jeeps in both parks, one fixed all-inclusive price, instant confirmation.
